Innistrad block aristocrats was my favorite deck ever! Anybody know any good cards to make it better in modern?

what are your thoughts of putting some green in there? I would be a shift, but I've been toying with the idea of a junk graveyard standard deck, and maybe it could help a modern deck too.

ok, fair enough.
thoughtseize is probably a must to deal with problem permanents.
In modern you run the problem of turn four combo wins on a regular basis, and control and combat that is on par with that. I worry that the deck may be too slow, but maybe {thoughtseize} and {inquisition of kolosk} can fill the gap.

Yeah {Thoughtseize}, {Lightning Bolt}, {Path to Exile}, and possibly {Dismember} are all pieces of removal you'll need in here. |

I would stay away from dismember myself....your colors have such good removal already and I try to only run dismember in, like, Green or blue which have a harder time killing creatures. Personal preference though. maybe even {dreadbore}...its not used much that I have seen, but I think that's because RB isn't a popular Modern deck at the moment. It is sorcery speed though so be aware of that big downside.

{Vendetta} and {Condemn} are both way too narrow in a field filled to the brim with combo. {Dreadbore} is nice against fair decks, but won't do that much to stop kiki-pod from going off (nor a highly determined melira pod player). Instant removal without restrictions like {Path to Exile}, {Lightning Bolt}, and {Lightning Helix} are what you'll want to stick to. ieatfood7 dismember is nice because it's so flexible: it can vary from a desperate-but-cheap colorless removal source to a late-game {murder}. That kind of versatility can make or break a card in modern. |
