Here is the situation. I have {elvish skysweeper} in play with lots of creatures and mana. I know my opponent has {Skirge Familiar} and a {drain life} in hand with enough cards in hand to kill me if he uses those two together.
He plays the Familiar. Do i get a chance to kill it before he uses it to power out drain life? Or (I think this is the right answer) he doesn't have to pass priority to me between resolution of the creature and casting the sorcery?

As the active player, priority goes back to him upon resolution of each spell.
He can cast Drain Life before you have an opportunity to kill the Skirge.

Thought so. I just played an edh deck with 88 lands...ad nausium fills your hand with your whole deck, skirge discards those for mana, and then darin life for 80+.
