So, for those of you who don't know, Wizards of the Coast has recently trademarked the names "Warlords of Khanar," Khans of Tarkir," and "Dragons of Tarkir." WHAT ARE THEY!? Some think they will be Magic sets, but I think they feel more like D&D names or some other game, but I don't think it has the feel of a Magic set.
Another name recently trademarked by WotC is "Magic Origins." I think this could be a From the Vault type thing, but its going to be hard to make a Magic Origins when 90% of the cards from the first few years are on the Reserved list.

The first three sound like magic sets... The three names are all related, so it could be a new block/precon decks.
The last, I don't know. A "from the vault" type set seems unlikely. Aside from that, maybe a new video game?

Yeah I found some info that said the first three were filed in the card game category. www.examiner.com/article/wizards-of-the-coast-trademarks-warlords-of-khanar-possible-future-block-nameWatsy is getting ready to drop D&D: Next for the summer release, so I doubt they'll be D&D related. I think being the next MtG block is more likely. They've been really creative in the marketing department with "accidents" in the past (Rootborn Defenses "accidentally" in the booster from another set, Zendikar treasures that was never officially confirmed,) and Magic players stumbling across filed copyrights reeks of the same tactics.

I don't think the names sound like Magic at all. Sets have been named after planes or had simple names like "Zendikar", "Ravnica" and "Tempest". The only time Magic really played around with names like this is the Kamigawa block, which WOTC sees as one of the biggest blunders in Magic history, so why would they repeat it? Even if it is in the card game category though, the names don't sound like Magic and are more likely for Kaijudo or some new game they are working on. Lastly, MaRo always talks about how sets need to match the public's expectations and there is no way that "Dragons of Khanar" can ever do that without creating an absolutely horrible limited environment and an all around boring set.
Edit: I just checked and Theros was announced on March 25, so we won't have long to wait. Also, I was thinking about it, and WOTC now has a new age of design that works two years in the future, so wouldn't they have applied for these earlier? If they work 2 years in the future why spend a year on development and then apply for the name? You would think you would want to know if the name was okay or not before a year into the making of it...

They've also had names that weren't after planes or simple, such as Time Spiral, City of Guilds, Rise of the Eldrazi, Born of the Gods, Journey in Nyx etc. But like I said, they could even be precon decks, which seems more likely, or not even MTG... I'm just saying, it wouldn't surprise me if they were MTG sets. Maybe not the next block, but one or two later.
