As others have said, the first thing you have to do is get your head straight, stop drinking. The next think is to think about seeing the doctor or a psychiatrist. It seems like you have good intentions but get angered for reasons you can't explain, this could be a mental or medical disorder. Its nothing to be ashamed of, but you could have hormonal imbalances or even bipolarism, the only way to know for sure is to check. You may not think you have it, but neither did my uncle, now that he is diagnosed and has medications though, he is a lot happier.
Something else to think about is possibly going to a relationship counselor or psychiatrist to work things out with your wife. They can help yo understand each other better and it will show your wife that you really are trying to change. You may think it sounds odd, but I can tell you from personal experience that psychiatrists can really help.
Lastly, don't apologize for coming to us, we are here for you and we want to help you. One of the most important things in life is having a support system. I hope things get better and my inbox is always open. Good luck.

Glad to see all this helpful advice here. Nightwolf, you're a good guy. Alcoholism is a beast - don't be ashamed to ask for help in beating it. I have all the confidence in the world that you can work it out for the best as long as you put your heart into reaching up, and not down deeper into the hole. You're always welcome to chat up folks here (as you can see) and there's a TON of professionals and organizations out there at the ready. You got this!
