Copied from "another forum" as with the drama the brains are pretty busy. Any thoughts?
Merieke Ri Berit taps and steals an active Karametra, God of Harvests. Merieke's player does not have enough devotion to activate Kara as a creature.
Does Kara stay with Merike's player?
We ruled that because Merike's ability doesn't continually target, Kara stayed stolen and Merike could untap without losing Kara.

I would wait to get a ruling from a more experienced judge/rules advisor, but I don't see a problem with that. I believe you are correct and Merieke does keep the Karametra, because Karmetra doesn't stop being a creature until after Merieke's ability resolves and Karametra enters your field. Because Karametra would no longer be a creature when you take it, wouldn't the "destroy that creature" clause fizzle anyways? Its not important for Karametra, but how about things like Keyrunes.

I buy these answers. The basis of the question is mostly that at some point these cease being creatures. So do you still control these when they are no longer creatures. I'm gonna say we agree yes. Makes my day. Thank you to everyone.

As long as Karametra is a creature when you target her, you still get to keep control of her with Merieke as long as she remains tapped, even if Karametra is not a creature under your control. I would think that the same applies to man lands and keyrunes. That is how I understand it, anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was talking about her "When Merieke Ri Berit leaves the battlefield or becomes untapped, destroy that creature. It can't be regenerated" ability.

From my understanding of rules, yes, they would be destroyed even of they are no longer a creature once she is untapped.

I think you actually keep karametra permenantly as merieke doesn't say that you lose control of the creature, you simply destroy it. So my new target is anything with Indestructible.

You're right I was going off of memory of her ability at first. (Not the best idea in rules forum) I apologize!
