Methinks my tastes are a bit different than everyone elses..... Parkway Drive Rise Against I don't know man, I feel like I'm in the same boat. My music niche is metal, but I enjoy groove and technicality. I enjoy Parkway Drive's early stuff. I think they have lost some of their intensity. My favorites (Sumerian Records ftw) include: AFTER THE BURIAL!!! = Nobody can top them. Here's a sample for anyone interested. I'd recommend it! Nine Summers Born of Osiris Animals as Leaders Meshuggah Volumes Vildhjarta Jason Becker I also enjoy a bunch of other music. Tommy Emmanuel, Pink Floyd, Tool (NEW ALBUM SOON!), Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Tom Petty, Bob Seger, R.E.O. Speedwagon, Boston, Tech N9ne, Ces Cru, Ritz. Too many too list...

Like, good lord, how ignorant are you Two things. One: Im seeing QotSA in May and I'm stoked. Two: I have a friend that's always talking about Music From Today. He's always complaining about what's on the radio and talking about how much better bands were in the 80's and 90's. So annoying. 2013 was a great year for new music and 2014 is looking good so far too.

EDIT: also, i like most every genre with the exception of most rap and pop, i don't generally enjoy rap or pop Why...? REASONS. The same reason most people would describe scraping a chalkboard as an unpleasant noise. I simply don't enjoy the sound. Extremely repetitive lyrics (pop), terrible advice/message (both), and simply bad writing (both) don't make good music to me. and again, i don't dislike all pop and rap, only most of it. Its more the artists than the actual genres that i dislike. certain artists never appeal to me, whereas others often do. it happens.

REASONS. simply don't enjoy the sound. Extremely repetitive lyrics (pop), terrible advice/message (both), and simply bad writing (both) don't make good music to me. I feel the same way about most rap/pop, but I have a couple you might enjoy. Listen to "So Fragile" and "Believe" by Tech N9ne, you'll especially enjoy these if you're an artist. Also check out "Meditate" and "Perception" by Ces Cru. Read lyrics while you're listening, they all have a good message and a bouncy beat.
